2019 Wrap Up

So another decade is coming to a close. As I grow older the time seems to just fly by. 2019 has certainly been a wild year for me that seemed to whiz by at a record pace. Again I made it a priority to get out to explore the beauty of nature. And boy did I find some amazing landscapes, and had some excellent adventures.

I did two trips to the Red River Gorge in Kentucky to sport climb on some of the best sandstone around! I was also lucky enough to be able to snap some pretty cool photos of some great friends during these trips.

The Bruce Peninsula was as beautiful a place as always this summer. I did some climbing, and backpacking around the perfect turquoise waters and limestone cliffs. During one of these backpacking trips I was blessed with one of my best days photographing I can remember. I snapped some great sunset images including some wildlife. Then was extremely blessed with a clear skies and views of the Milky Way’s core.

Mid summer I once again travelled to Squamish, BC. Climbing, hiking, and light mountaineering was the name of the game here. Jenn was in Squamish again, and it was awesome to spend more time with her. She was my neighbour for the two weeks I spent camping in the Chekamus Canyon. The Tantalus range has always drawn me in, with its glaciated rock peaks, and perfect skyline. This year I braved the wilderness and journeyed into this gorgeous, and treacherous landscape for the first. It was a journey I will not soon forget, with many lessons learned along the way. I also did a lot of climbing while there. Though injured I still made the most of it.

2019 also brought my new pup and best friend, Orion into my life. He’s a spunky Border Collie with a ton of loving energy, and is always ready to match my enthusiasm for adventure. I can’t wait to see what new adventures we’ll have together.

Colitis for me this year has been interesting to say the least. For the most part it’s been completely under control, with only a few issues. This is a huge change for me, which has opened up so many new opportunities.

2020 is already looking extremely promising, and I can’t wait to share what’s in store.

Below is a collection of my favourite photos I made from 2019.
